OPPORTUNITY:
Anti MLM is a term that seems to be coming up a lot out there. And just as Eric Worre (mlm guru) talked about, it's pretty much earned. So you'll see on sites like Reddit.com a lot of sentiment toward anti-mlm. They even have a full reddit dedicated to anti mlm. So these are a bunch of people that sit around and I guess have nothing better to do than to bash MLM and network marketing.
And yes much of their comments are correct in many ways. However, I think what this whole "antiMLM" movment doesn't fully grasp in several key things when it comes to small business.
Mainly that it takes on average about 20 tries to find one business that works. So if you fail, that doesn't mean you got scammed, or that the whole MLM industry is flop, or anything. You've made the average. One famous entrepreneur who had a net worth of over 400 million dollars said "you have to be willing to fail 100 times, to find one thing that works". So that's the first thing, is that if you fail that doesn't mean anything.
The next anti MLM thing that gets sort of misinterperpurated is simply the idea of some basic concepts behind MLM. So for starters considering that about 75% of businesses fail within 5 years, and in MLM it's much higher, then anyone considering getting into a business would need to consider how much risk they'd be willing to take financially if you're new to business. If you risk too much you could end up bankrupt. And most franchises charge hundreds of thousands, even millions to start. So that kind of risk is far to great for the average person. But the average person can risk a few hundred dollars. So that way if they fail, at least they won't lose their shirt. They networker can still easily go on in life. There's mostly no harm no folly. But if they put up their home to get a loan to get into a popular franchise, and if it goes under, then that persons life is over for the next 5 years at least, possibly longer. They might never recover. So that's why MLM is safe, because it's low cost.
Another thing that anti MLMer's don't understand fully is that network marketing is a training ground for new entrepreneurs in many of cases. Becoming really good at business is not any different than any other profession. It takes years of training. So where can you get that training, fast, easy and cheap? MLM of course. It's the best training ground there is in your journey as an entrepreneur. It doesn't get much better, because you get to try your hand at business for a few hundred bucks. It's amazing when you think about it. There's not many other options in which you can start a business for that cheap.
And really the list of things that could be talked about as to areas that this whole Anti MLM movement doesn't understand is quit considerable. Yes I do agree with a lot of what they're claiming. But that's one aspect of business, which is high risk. That's all they talk about is how risky it is and how many scams are out there, etc etc etc. It's like a broken record. It's stupid really because life is risk. And if you look at most professions, MLM is one of the least risky. It's extremely low risk. If you fail, it's no big deal you'll recover on your very next pay check from your day job. Compare that to being a firefighter, policeman, army, or even a trades person where everyday you risk dying on the job. So comparatively speaking MLM is very low risk in terms of career paths. If you lose a few hundred dollars because something happens you can recover very quickly. That's low risk.
Also business is all about risks. That's what most anti MLMer's don't understand as they mostly are only use to working at a 9 to 5 job and getting a pay check. Yes it's risky in a sense in that you might lose a bit financially if it doesn't work out. But you'll gain tons of business experience and contacts that are worth far far more than the two hundred or so bucks you might lose. All of which you'll take with you into your next business venture. Then if you repeat that about 10 to 20 times you'll likley hit on something that will start to make some big money. Possibly even setting you up for life. And an asset that you can hand down to your kids even. So don't worry about all this anti MLM crap that's out there. It's so dumb. If you don't like failing then get a day job. Being an entrepreneur means you're fully okay with failing. It means you're willing to fail 100 times in order to find that one thing that will set you and your family up for life. Now go to it!
