You're biggest enemy as a network marketer is the concept of "attrition". attrition in networking terms simply means people give up or drop out of your downline. Therefore you must have an automated system in place to be building your downline on autopilot which you'll find by clicking here.
You're upline is not necessarily going to place people under you in a binary or in a forced matrix downline compensation plan. It's true. If they're forced to place a person it's going to be under their best performers typically. So unless your one of the best downline mentors or your upline is say a direct family or close friend, you can't count on this kind of growth. You must have an automated downline building system in place.
You need a very large downline before you'll be making a full time living. Typically with many network marketing companies you generally have to factor in a lot of variables. These include things like breakaways, attrition, changes in the company, companies going bankrupt, or being sued, or various factors that might derail or reduce your income. So therefor you need to build fast and effective to build a large downline so you can start to see large commissions.
Keep track of all your downlines contact information. Have a very detailed database of every downlines contact information. As well as your upline. That way in the rare event that something should happen. Say for example you joined a new MLM and it goes bankrupt, which sometimes happens. Then you can contact all your downline members multiple levels deep and try and get them to migrate over into another program under you. You won't get all but you stand to salvage some. So having a detailed database is key.
You need a duplicatable downline building system that you can immediately plug your own downline members into. That is something you can do with our downline building system in place.
The most amount of money you'll make is when your downline starts to grow. Much less in selling the products themselves. Buy what you have to each month, and or just get on your companies "autoship" program to qualify for your commission check, but then mostly just try and recruit downline members and encourage them to buy what they need to and spend most of their time building there downlines. Selling products to retail consumers is highly promoted amoung MLM companies. But it's a fatal flaw in getting ahead. It takes up way too much of your time and energy. Which after a hard days work you have very little of left. You're main goal is to be "building a network" not retailing products. If you were going into the retail business you would have opened a shop in a mall. That's not what Network marketing is mainly about. It's about building a downline. So don't be fooled by small retail profits as they're generally not worth all the time money and energy you'll spend to get them in the long run.
Training is another big challenge. First you'll likely have to train your downline on how your business actually works, in terms of the compensation plan, order process, company rules and more. Then next you have to train them in building their downline. So that's a lot of time and energy spent that you could be doing other things and or finding more downline members to join. So instead if you could plug your downline into self learning and DIY instructions, that would free up a lot of your time. So if say your town gets flooded with mlm reps that are doing your same business, such as: Avon, Amway, MaryKay, Nuskin, Herbalife or any other variety of the names out there. Then you'll end up trying to approach someone locally and you'll hear a lot of "oh I've heard of that before" type remarks. The market is satuarted and people might not want to take a serious look.
